The most I have is my great-grandma's and gran's knitting needles, and I'm hoping to get my Granny's tapestry frame. All the rest was given or thrown away.Emma (GirlAnachronismE)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07354226176191037080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615755349672783342.post-71474452416592010692011-06-21T13:10:21.811+01:002011-06-21T13:10:21.811+01:00Fantastic post and good on you for making the thro...Fantastic post and good on you for making the throw to pass back, I pray your elbow holds out that is a precious thought.Mrs H Knitshttp://mrshknits.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615755349672783342.post-34011111750374127312011-06-20T21:29:42.633+01:002011-06-20T21:29:42.633+01:00Yep, Chalk. It's a very hard wearing material as long as you treat it right.Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14550392963931725159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615755349672783342.post-6261870133773534422011-06-20T16:55:52.141+01:002011-06-20T16:55:52.141+01:00What a great post. How kind of you to do something with those squares, Loved the WWII pattern.
My French mom lived in France, near Paris, during the war and often said that "The English were the bravest people" referring to the blitz that occurred almost nightly.
I am enjoying all the post for the folks in England, especially when they mention their homes. You'res sounds lovely. She was the crafter in the family & I'm sure we could have shared some special times together. I suppose her knitting/sewing things have long since gone.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15235487618197642766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615755349672783342.post-32153255336322862502011-06-20T11:16:47.041+01:002011-06-20T11:16:47.041+01:00What a lovely post. They don't seem to understand that what may seem like junk or stuff to them was once very much treasured by Grannie. I especially don't understand why they would not want to hold onto and pass down lovingly hand crafted treasures.lyndagracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13530605081989558341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615755349672783342.post-63908206684225123362011-06-20T10:30:11.174+01:002011-06-20T10:30:11.174+01:00Very kind of you to take the time to finish both t...Very kind of you to take the time to finish both the knitted squares and the cover!
